Girls Weekend (2) 2019

We usually only get together once a year, but we were laughing that this year was A LOT for all of us so we needed a double dose! We got together in February and spent most of that weekend talking about marriages (and a divorce), kids leaving home and the hard, hard job of raising teenagers in a world that doesn't accept different. If February was a heavy trip this one was light as a feather! We had the best time just talking and laughing and drinking and eating, and the views weren't too shabby either.

Florida Farewell

Our last sunset in Florida didn't disappoint.  Honestly, it wasn't an emotional farewell though.  I always felt like our time in Florida was fleeting. As a family, we transitioned the kids in and out of the house over summers, and in and out again. In two short years we transitioned through different schools and jobs and friends. These last two years especially, I felt like a transient. Never quite settled.  Now, it's time to settle. I'd like to plant some roots, even if they aren't deep and forever at our next assignment. Like us, they just need to be strong for the season.  Eglin AFB, Florida  1 June 2023
