Holy Beard

Image
Two weekends ago Lyco played in a fall ball tourney and  one of Maxwell's friends moms texted me this pic. HOLY BEARD!! Later that night, and after much shaming, these texts came in...  I was really scared he was going to just keep the 'stache... There we go...Moose is back!

Retirement Announcement

Nope. It's not that one ;) Henry has officially announced his retirement from lacrosse, and by "officially" I mean he told Matt and I. For him to play here in Florida, it would mean that he'd have to join one of two school teams that plays high school lacrosse and Collegiate isn't one of those two schools. He'd be playing with kids he doesn't even go to school. For Henry, the choice was easy. He's done being the new kid in town. He's made good friends at Collegiate and has a social life and he doesn't need lacrosse to fill in any holes. So, there it is. He played his last high school game as a freshman, earned a Varsity letter and best of all, finished it on the field with his big brother. Those are great memories that he'll always have and a TON to be proud of. As (selfishly) sad as it makes me to not see Henry play lacrosse anymore, it makes me a thousand time happier to see him totally buy in to CrossFit. He's been at it since

Just One

Poor, sweet girl. She had been holding herself together so well since we moved here that I never thought she was feeling down. I've always said that Viv is our "I'm just happy to be alive" kid. She's so easy going and go-with-flow. She's never complained about being dragged around to her brothers' games and schools and tours and activities. She's always done those things with a smile and an easy-going attitude. She's always seemed to make friends easily and get involved with activities at the drop of a hat. I'm just now realizing I've been taking all of that for granted. On Saturday she and I were hanging out in the water and just talking about everyday things. She got a little quiet and said to me, "can I talk to you about something&qu
