Family Affair

A couple of weeks ago Matt had the honor of commissioning his cousin into the Iowa Air National Guard at Maxwell Air Force Base. It was nice to get back to our old stomping ground and even better to see some Iowa family that we hadn't seen in ages!

Florida Farewell

Our last sunset in Florida didn't disappoint.  Honestly, it wasn't an emotional farewell though.  I always felt like our time in Florida was fleeting. As a family, we transitioned the kids in and out of the house over summers, and in and out again. In two short years we transitioned through different schools and jobs and friends. These last two years especially, I felt like a transient. Never quite settled.  Now, it's time to settle. I'd like to plant some roots, even if they aren't deep and forever at our next assignment. Like us, they just need to be strong for the season.  Eglin AFB, Florida  1 June 2023
