Viv Update

Last Sunday Vivian tested positive for Covid. 

Throughout the week I worked on this blog post. I was trying to put my thoughts and feelings into words,  little by little, and tonight as I sat down to finish writing, I re-read my words. And I felt embarrassed. My words were so angry. Focused on people and situations completely outside of my control.  

For a week, I had just been rearranging deck chairs. 

So I deleted everything and started over with a clearer head.  

Tonight I'm grateful. 

 

Grateful that Vivian's healthy and strong body was able to fight off Covid.

Grateful that Matt and I believe in and have had access to the Covid 19 vaccine for ourselves and the kids. 

Grateful that Matt, Maxwell, Henry and I have stayed healthy without any symptoms of Covid. 

Grateful that Viv is at a school that respects public health and is completely transparent with families.

Grateful that I was able to be home with Viv all week without worries about work or bills or childcare.   

Grateful that we have friends and family who offered support and love to us throughout the week.

Grateful that this girl who never stopped smiling.
