Scenes of Summer

Image
It was a super low-key July 4th this year, but all five of us were together at home and got to see a pretty spectacular display over the water!  A few days after the 4th Vivian left for a Catholic Youth Conference in Atlanta, so its was just the boys and Matt and I for the weekend. It was great to have some one on one time with them, even though I was still feeling pretty beat up from Covid.  I was slow moving, but it was worth it! Camp Helen State Park... I think this is my favorite spot in all of Florida That's a manatee swimming right by the boys! MANATEE!

The 'Vid

Twenty seven months. I went Covid-free for 27 months before the 'vid got me. Four weeks ago today I started with an itchy throat that I chalked it up to some spicy cheese that I had eaten. Ugh. I was "that person".  By Monday morning my throat was on fire and I was a little congested but still, I wasn't totally convinced. I had joked so many times before about having "hysterical Covid", but this did feel different. Matt was supposed to leave later that afternoon on a TDY, so I figured I should test, just in case.  And it was positive. The faintest positive. But still. It was positive.  Monday... a faint positive in the morning  ...and this was just a few hours later. My head was aching and my throat felt like it was covered in glass slivers Tuesday... really, really positive ...my best buddy Wicks stayed by my side though  Wednesday... I felt absolutely terrible  My symptoms were getting worse Thursday... still felt horrible  Friday...  The first day I felt

End-to-End

It took the Maxwell and Henry 24 days to go end-to-end...273 miles. The final celebration looked totally worth it.

Dad's Day 2022

Image
Father's Day started with cookies for breakfast...brunch at Basil and Baxter's after Mass...and dinner, drinks and a movie at Suds-n-Cinema. Viv was definitely the favorite child this Dad's day!  Find yourself a cookie lady like Keichel Cookies! To Matt Hanson... the man who has shown our kids the world... from the mountains to the oceans and everywhere in between.  You deserve the world, yourself.  We love you beyond measure.
