Family Weekend

We had a pretty perfect Family Weekend in Tuscaloosa! All three of the kids are doing great - all in their own ways. Maxwell is taking on adult life with a new confidence and clarity that we haven't seen before in him. Henry is thriving at Alabama and testing the waters of every single opportunity that comes his way. And Viv is coming into her own as one of the Hanson sibs, not just the little sister she's always been. 

It was a pretty perfect weekend, indeed!

Florida Farewell

Our last sunset in Florida didn't disappoint.  Honestly, it wasn't an emotional farewell though.  I always felt like our time in Florida was fleeting. As a family, we transitioned the kids in and out of the house over summers, and in and out again. In two short years we transitioned through different schools and jobs and friends. These last two years especially, I felt like a transient. Never quite settled.  Now, it's time to settle. I'd like to plant some roots, even if they aren't deep and forever at our next assignment. Like us, they just need to be strong for the season.  Eglin AFB, Florida  1 June 2023
