It's no secret that I won't miss very much of Florida...but this is my view going across the bridge to get Viv to and from school and swim, twice a day, day after day. This view I just might miss.
Our last sunset in Florida didn't disappoint. Honestly, it wasn't an emotional farewell though. I always felt like our time in Florida was fleeting. As a family, we transitioned the kids in and out of the house over summers, and in and out again. In two short years we transitioned through different schools and jobs and friends. These last two years especially, I felt like a transient. Never quite settled. Now, it's time to settle. I'd like to plant some roots, even if they aren't deep and forever at our next assignment. Like us, they just need to be strong for the season. Eglin AFB, Florida 1 June 2023
AmeriCorps and the real world called. The day after we got back home from Colorado, Maxwell was off. It should've been two days after we got home, but we missed our original flight and...anyhow. On that Tuesday morning, Matt and Henry went to work, and Maxwell, Viv and I loaded up the U-Haul and headed to Knoxville. Viv was so excited to be a part of this moving crew...she was always in school when he left for Lyco so this was her first official move-in. There was a lot of driving, a lot of sweat, and (as always) some tears, but the three of us got it done! Go answer that call, Moose. Go out and do great things!! Tennessee River Line Project Day 1!
