On Sunday, this was put up in front of the Eglin hospital by an anonymous member of the community... Yes, yes they do!

The Clog

That's right...The Clog. The Clovid Blog. Where do I even start?? It seems like it's been months since Henry's birthday but really it's just been 16 days. The day before Henry's birthday Matt and I were in Montgomery for a retirement ceremony that Matt officiated. It was the retirement of our old neighbor in Prattville which meant we got to see some of the old St. Andrews Court crew. It was great to see them! We knew the week before this that things were starting to go south, but honestly, I had no idea how quickly everything would happen. The day before the retirement ceremony Maxwell played his last lacrosse game in Virginia Beach. The team pretty much knew that it would be their last game together because so many programs and colleges had already started to shut the seasons and semesters down. By Thursday we had a ticket for Maxwell to come home and by Friday, Henry's birthday, he was back at Camp Pinchot ready to start what we though would just b

Happy, Happy Birthday

This is 17!! In the midst of all this craziness this week, we were able to slow down a bit and celebrate the birthday of our Bean. Actually, it seems fitting that his birthday was the calm in the storm this week, just like he tends to be. Henry's the deep breath that everyone should take right now. The gentle and compassionate way that you hope folks would take on right now.  Happy birthday to our Aloha baby! Henry, you make Dad and I proud every single day. You make us laugh, and best of all, you make us wonder. Some people are described as "open books", but not you. You pave your way way, on your own time. I wouldn't change that for the world. Every day with you brings a newness to the family that only you provide. Beansie, your potential knows no bounds and I can not wait to see what you do with that.  I love you Hen and I wish for you another year of wonder, of health, of happiness, and of love! -Momma

The Simple Life

On Wednesday I turned 44 and one of my brothers reminded me that enjoying the simple things in life is always best. He's right. This was the most simple and absolute best gift I received all day... Nothing else could make me happier than these simple words!

Lacrosse for Life

Image
So Maxwell is bald...but for a good cause! Yesterday  Lacrosse for Life  held its annual fundraising event. The premise is simple...the non-profit will donate $1000 to Boston Children's Hospital for every college lacrosse player that shaves his head on March 1st. Lycoming lacrosse had 19 athletes participate. That's $19,000 (just from Lyco) that's going to the top pediatric research hospital in the nation! I couldn't be more proud of the Warriors that stepped up and joined a cause that is so much bigger than themselves! It's a good day to be a Warrior!! Maxwell was bummed that he didn't make the group pic but he was pretty sick  so he didn't hang around too long after the head shaving!
